Daisy and Charlie’s Wedding
It was a beautiful spring weekend for the celebration of Daisy and Charlie.
Co-ordinator Rachael, and two Serve crew members (Ella & Emily) had worked hard on Friday overseeing deliveries, organising table layouts and perfecting the set-up for Saturday’s wedding. The Cornish Tent Co. had assembled their sailcloth marquee on Daisy’s parent’s lawn with fauna installations from Twigs and Green, and an opening to an outstanding view across to St Antony’s Head. Rach and the team laid up tables delivered by Abbotts Event Hire, with polaroids of the couple with their guests, disposable cameras for the kids and home grown flowers.
Saturday arrived and so had Rachael, the Serve Cornwall crew, the Hidden Hut team, Beetlejuice cocktails and the musicians! As Daisy waved us goodbye from the house with her dad in their Morris Minor, the Serve team (Ella, Emily, Alisha, Mia & Flora) worked with Rachael to ensure everything was set up and ready to go for the party’s arrival. Alisha and Mia worked hard on the welcome drinks station; a gorgeous rustic bar top was adorned with bottles of Freixenet, hi-balls of gin and tonic, kilner jars of sparkling elderflower, trugs of beer and passion fruit bellinis. The other girls were ensuring the tables were uniform, the cake from Simply Baked was on display and the catering tent was ready for service.
The Hidden Hut team set up the canape grills, to serve champagne scallops, mozzarella dippers and sesame-coated sausages. The rest of the catering team were warming up the main grill, prepping the salads and sides and running through the service plan with Rachael and the crew.
Guests arrived back from Gerrans church at 3pm to the saxophonist and pianist setting the scene, and the Serve team were busy keeping drinks flowing in the sunshine, whilst Olivia Rossi was capturing special moments from the day.
Toasts were poured at tables as the Father of the Bride and Groom gave their speeches, before chicken and chips were served from the mighty grill accompanied by an array of yummy salads. The Serve team cleared the plates efficiently as it was time for a re-pour of champagne for the Best Man speeches and a family favourite game of heads and tails (uh oh!) During that time, Rachael and the catering team had prepped the wedding cake to be served for dessert with sharing bowls of cream and berries.
As guests were finishing their meals, the team at Beetlejuice prepped for the influx of cocktail orders that kept coming late into the night! Tables were cleared and the marquee was turned into a dance floor ready for the Electric Bandits to get the party started.
As darkness fell, the most phenomenal firework display was put on for everyone to enjoy across the bay, accompanied by a delivery of pasties from St. Mawes Bakery. The evening was a great success. Congratulations Daisy and Charlie and thank you for having Serve as part of your big day!
